Leadership

At Odyssey Academy, we believe in teaching the whole child. While academics are very important, we also believe leadership skills are vital to our students’ success in the classroom and beyond.

Odyssey Academy uses The Leader In Me program to help teachers develop leadership skills in their students, which is based on Stephen Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This program helps students discover their unique strengths, giving all students an opportunity to shine and to become leaders.

In addition to the Leader In Me program, teachers and students infuse core values into every activity. Odyssey Academy's core values are Integrity, Encouragement, Respect, Responsibility, and Safety.

Along with state and national pledges, staff and students recite the Odyssey Pledge each day:

I am a Leader.
I will show Integrity by doing the right thing even when no one is looking;
I will Encourage everyone to be their best;
I will Respect myself, others, and my school in everything I do and say;
I will exhibit Responsibility by being proactive, engaged, and trustworthy;
I will follow all of the rules for the Safety of myself and others.
I am a Leader.

We encourage our students and their families to share these ideals and values at home so the whole family can learn and grow together!
